Devon was sitting on the sofa, watching a cooking channel show and taking copious amounts of notes. Cooking was her new thing. She had always been good at it but now she wanted to be like...gourmet good! That and she got a kick out of the chef, Ainsley. Dietrich walked into the room a moment later and he took one look at the screen and he scowled. "These shows always make me hungry."

Devon poked her head into the living room where she caught Dietrich looking quite wistful. He wasn't even paying attention to the telly, which was just weird. "Dad?" She asked, and then she had to repeat it four times just to get his bloody attention.

Dietrich and Devon arrived at the Kemp Manor after Dietrich had picked Devon up from school. She was still in her school uniform, but that didn't matter because it just meant she matched Zoe. Once they were admitted, Devon flounced up the stairs and into Johan and Werner's room, wrapping her arms around a rather stunned Johan before he even had the chance to turn around. "HI!" She chirped and Johan chuckled.

Not...exactly what she meant there... )

Devon had started back at London College, which was sort of like a nightmare, but it was a hell of a lot better than being in the Kempf Manor all by herself, secluded from everyone. There was some new actress' sister at London College there or something. But Devon kept to herself for the most part, choosing to be much more extroverted when she got home as opposed to in school. Which generally showed the second the burst through the door and called out to see if her father was home. His days always depended on what was going on at the animal hospital he worked at, but today he happened to be home. And when Devon bellowed his name, he peered around the door frame from the kitchen and he grinned at her. "Come look at what I'm making!" Now that Devon was back and he was sure she wasn't leaving again, Dietrich was doing much better.

It wasn't beyond the realms of believability that Devon would come upon some resident of the Kempf Manor that she hadn't met yet. Sure, there were several branches of the family, each claiming a part of the manor as their own so they could continue living amoungst the only people they considered their equals. But it was happening less and less, so when she saw an unfamiliar man on the stairs, she slowed down to take a good look, then she winked and said, "Hey!" Just to be American in his general direction before she continued on.

The below conversation is in German.

Wolfgang Kempf sat behind his large rosewood desk, petting his black obsidian dragon carving in contemplation as if it was some sort of pet ready to pounce on anyone who interrupted his thought processes. No one ever did, however. They knew better. Most of the business of the day had been resolved. One matter was still left to discuss. Finally, Wolfgang spoke. "What about the situation in Little Moscow? I am eager to see this resolved." He tapped the desk with the fingers of his other hand, and he did not sound pleased that the situation hadn't been.

Devon did not answer her phone when it rang. Annoyingly, her father did. And he brought her the phone like a good little trained circus dog. "It's the harpy!" He whispered and then he realised he didn't have his hand over the phone so Helsa had probably heard. "Oh, balls!"
