Devon was sitting on the sofa, watching a cooking channel show and taking copious amounts of notes. Cooking was her new thing. She had always been good at it but now she wanted to be like...gourmet good! That and she got a kick out of the chef, Ainsley. Dietrich walked into the room a moment later and he took one look at the screen and he scowled. "These shows always make me hungry."

"You can order pizza." Devon said helpfully, never tearing her eyes off the screen.

"But they always have that 'one I prepared earlier and it looks so nice!" Dietrich protested.

"Dad, I just missed the correct cooking temperature! Augh. I'll just look it up online." Devon reached out for the remote and she flicked the telly off. "You're a nuisance, you know?"

"I might be aware." Dietrich grinned. "Where were you all afternoon. With your boyfriend, hmmm?"

Devon rolled her eyes and she closed her notebook. "No. I was in the library studying. I want to be a class rep, but I was reading up on campaigning and I think a better strategy would be for me to be a VP with someone who's more well known. I did spend most of last year being home schooled by Nazis..." Devon shrugged. "So I just need to find the right running mate and I'm set."

"You're so driven. All I did in high school was...er..."

"Knock up Mom?" Devon said with a cheeky grin.

"Thank you, that's helpful." Dietrich shook his head but she was right, dammit. "Have you seen Jean at all this weekend?"

"I'll see him next weekend." Devon said dismissively.

"Did he do something?!" Dietrich asked suddenly, his eyes flashing.

"Dad, take a chizzle pizzle, for serious." Devon shook her head and then she patted his knee. "Jean didn't do a thing, I'm just busy! It's not like I have to see him all the time. When was the last time you saw Liz?"

Dietrich groaned and he leaned back against the pillows. "That's different. I'm pretty sure Jean's long lost wife didn't just show back up unexpectedly."

"I should hope not." Devon said firmly. "Anyway, he's probably busy with...constructioning or getting sloshed with his gay best friend. I'm sorry about Liz, Dad..."

Dietrich shrugged. "If Emma makes her happy, then so be it."

"So be it sucks." Devon added.

"That's one way to put it." Dietrich sighed heavily.

"Dad? Do you want me to make something like one of those 'this is one I prepared earlier' dishes?"

Dietrich lit up. "Ooh, yes please!"

Devon laughed and she jumped up, notebook in hand, ready to emulate the lovely Ainsley. She even planned to dance about as she added spices!

"Devon?"

"Yeah, Dad?"

"What's a chizzle pizzle?" Dietrich looked utterly lost and confused when he asked, and his Austrian accent made it sound all the more amusing, and all Devon could do was try not to pass out from laughter and the inability to breathe.
