Johan was ferried to the doctor by his brother, Daniel. Daniel remained quite stoic the entire time, leading Johan to wonder what exactly Daniel was thinking about all this. Daniel wasn't exactly forthcoming on that subject, choosing to wallow by himself, if he was in fact wallowing.

Having said his goodbyes to the one person that mattered to Werner anymore, he said a quick goodbye on his journal as well. Just so people would know. He knew what he had done. He accepted his fault. He didn't see a single response to what he said. He hadn't lingered.

The last person Johan expected to enter his room on his last day in the hospital before he was transferred back to prison, was his husband. But when Werner entered the room, looking so much more than guilty, Johan's first reaction was still to run to his husband to hug him. Without all the rest of the horror involved with the past weeks of his life, Johan was dealing with the breakdown of a relationship he had been in for the past eleven years. He was in love with Werner, and he had thought he would have to watch his husband slip away, not leap over a precipice taking their son with him. "Werner..." Johan's voice was unsure and unsteady. But at least he found it and it worked.

Alastair entered the Kemp Manor, whistling a jaunty tune as he did so. "Gay fathers?!" He called through the house and he stuck his head into the living room to find Liz and Emma laughing on the sofa. "Whoops, wrong gay couple. Hey, guys!"

Alastair tried to spend time with his father every day. If he couldn't make it every day, he definitely made it every other day. He had learned from the death of his mother that if you didn't make the time to see people and then they were gone, you missed them and you felt more guilty than you would ever admit. With Werner, he had prior warning. His father was dying. Soon. Within the next few years, if they were lucky. Within the next few months if they weren't. Alastair tried so hard to be happy. And Klara helped, as did the almost daily visits. But sometimes it was hard. losing his mother and finding out he would lose his father all in one year was not an easy thing to deal with, nor was the world descending into terrible darkness. No wonder he went out ocasionally and got drunk out of his mind.

Mirela and Radu weren't making a great deal of progress, 'finding missing people' wise. Mirela was spending more time explaining things to Radu than making sure to feel out any demons, though she only really knew about such modern technology through second hand information, told to her by Peter. A man who didn't speak her language. And there weren't exactly Latin words for things like 'traffic light'. Mirela had spent almost her entire life in a tiny Romanian village, separated from things like electricity and cars, and Radu had spent nearly all of his in a cave. London was unfamiliar territory. Frightening even.

I don't think there's a proper title for this.... )

Peter was chewing at a loose piece of skin on his little finger which probably didn't make him appear all that brilliant, but he wasn't concerned with how he looked at the moment. Not that he ever was... He was far too preoccupied thinking about the girl he had seen in the park yesterday, Naja. He knew she needed his help. He'd been dreaming of her off and on for over a year now. He felt he knew her well, and yet she knew nothing of him. He'd never experienced anything quite like it before. He had dreamed of Deirdre for a few weeks before she came to him. And it was similar with the other demons and now angels he had gone to try and help, with the exception of Darren, who he'd been called in to help. He had never had visions of someone for over a year with no evidence of how to help, and then randomly run into them during a stroll in the park.

The train ride to Vienna had been long and uneventful. Once they had arrived in Vienna, however, it was a different story. They had to clean out Werner's old house on the outskirts of the Vienna woods, and that was incredibly depressing. Johan was sitting on the floor of Werner's study, packing books into boxes as Werner darted around, trying to figure out what to do with everything else. "Do you think Alastair would like Proust?" Werner asked, holding up the awesomely huge Swan's Way.

A sort of Calm )

Johan was placing some things in a bag so they would have a few changes of clothes on the trip to Vienna. Of course, once they got there, they had everything else they owned that they hadn't brought to London with them. The bag wasn't very large, but it gave him something to do. Something to focus on.

"You wanted to see me, Dad?" Alastair asked, entering Werner's hospital room with a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach. He hadn't even known his father was being taken here last night. They hadn't contacted him until this morning, something he wasn't all too pleased about. But his father was ill, and Alastair wasn't about to make it worse by turning all the attention on to himself and his feelings. He wasn't like that. "Are you feeling alright?"
