daniel_marlow: (Getting mad)
It was Danny's first time out since he'd been at Priory and before then he wasn't exactly hitting the town every night. The trip to Robert MacGavillary Memorial Hospital felt strange and by the time they arrived, Danny was just glad to be inside again.

Having arrived early, Danny sat in the waiting room, willing his friends to show up soon. He couldn't get his mind off what he was about to do. He hadn't told any of his friends his plan because he knew they would stop him. It involved getting closer to Greg than he ever hoped to be again, and just the thought of it was weighing on him. He hoped it would work out and he could get the information he needed. Without it, this was all going to be for nothing.

They had one day left to fine Danny and Deirdre was beginning to get more than a little frantic. It had been her responsibility to watch over Danny in the first place, and a tragedy involving her brother had drawn her attention away. If that driver ended up causing two casualties, Deirdre was going to hate herself for a very long time. Not that Dylan was dead yet, but Deirdre was fairly pessimistic about his prognosis.

Thomas had taken to driving, and he wasn't keen on discussing the fact that Spectre had gone with Flynn instead of him. Deirdre was aware, distantly, that something had happened in Glasgow, but she didn't really have time to worry about the state of her friends' marriage. She was just happy enough to have him with her; and happier still that at the last moment, Zoe had decided to join them. Deirdre understood. They had done day and Zoe was getting as frantic as Deirdre was.

daniel_marlow: (Thinking)
Danny never had a clue he was being followed and it might not have mattered at all, were it not for the car.

Rachel had been through so much lately, and whether they still went to prom on the 19th or not, Danny wanted to make his girlfriend happy if he could at all. He figured with or without prom, if he showed up at her door all dressed up and carrying flowers, he could put a smile on her face. Which was why he jumped at the chance to go shopping with Dylan the moment his mother mentioned she needed to speak to his father alone, just the two of them.

Well shit )
Zoe was in her room, yes, but there was no way she would have been able to notice the phone, even if it was in her room, unharmed and whole. Zoe was too busy, too far away.

Her body seizing on her floor.

"Parker," Jude said in a tone that she thought was very calm, "if you change radio stations one more time I swear to god I'll pull this car over so I can strangle you. Just pick a station!"

Parker, in the front seat of Vivica, sighed heavily and sunk back against the upholstery. "I'm so bored of driving."

"That's becoming painfully clear," Jude said, eyes on the road. It was, at worst, only a two hour drive from Cambridge to London and yet Parker acted as though they'd been stuck in the car for two days instead. Parker was not the person to be trapped in a vehicle with. Parker was bloody annoying to be trapped in a vehicle with. "Should have got you more travel sweets," she muttered, glad they were at least getting close to their destination. Although she didn't want Parker too hyped up on sugar - she was already bouncy enough just coming back to London.

Pulling into the driveway at Victoria Lane, Jude considered that she could have called ahead, but showing up unannounced just had such a better impact.

Please, she thought as she climbed out, don't let anyone be kidnapped, dead, or in the midst of a breakdown. But those were all high odds and she tried not to dread it. If Parker was worried it didn't show - she was beaming as she bounced up to knock on the door, Jude following at a slightly more sedate pace but with a smile already happening.
Time was, Deirdre hated it when Peter didn't include her in a raid against the Templar or a rescue mission. And then her girlfriend had gone on one and ended up dead. If Peter asked, Deirdre would go and help in a heartbeat, because she owed him. But now Peter didn't ask, and Deirdre was secretly glad. She had twins to think about, and they had already lost their other mother, before they had even been born. All they needed was to lose their biological mother. Then they would be left with Giles and god knew that was a train wreck waiting to happen.

When Spectre thought of the person he could consider his oldest friend, his mind always inevitably brought up Deirdre. She had been a part of his musical act the longest as well, but Deirdre was at least partially responsible for the life he had now. It had been his previous musical partner, Sacrifice, who had been responsible for seeing to it that Deirdre's band replaced their opening act once, a very long time ago. Her reasons may have been nefarious, but Spectre couldn't help but be grateful. They had walked into 213 Victoria Lane that day and Spectre had immediately been wary of Deirdre, whom his angelic senses, in as much as he understood them at the time, immediately distrusted.

Deirdre was sitting on the floor of the living room with her twins darting around the room while she watched them. They were nearly two now, and their personalities were absolutely showing through. Eiley was more reserved. She had a head of shockingly-red hair like her mother, and she loved to be read to. She would gaze at the pictures and babble to them while you read. Gabriel was Deirdre's little brown-haired exhibitionist. He hated wearing clothes, and he didn't seem to be afraid of anything. The moment he learned a word, he would yell it loudly and repeatedly until it no longer sounded like a real word. Deirdre loved the both of them so much, even if they reminded her that her life had not turned out like she had tried to so carefully shape it.

Backdated to after this

Deirdre had awakened before the rest of the house as usual. Ever since Jude moved out, she tended to spend her mornings alone if her twins were gone, and they were with their father.

The past year had been horrible for Deirdre. Her best friend had disappeared and then her family had been killed or broken because of her. Her marriage had failed within hours of it even occurring. If she was being honest with herself, ever since Kait's death, her life had been one long series of shitty events.

Just waiting for an answer and I'll be on my way )

Deirdre had a habit of inserting herself into situations she wasn't always wanted, and she hardly ever realised this. It was like showing up in the foreground of a photo that was supposed to be of something else, unaware of anything behind her. All she knew was that Giles had their twins that day and that made Deirdre feel annoyed. Surely her friends should do all the could to make her not feel annoyed. Right?

OH HAI GUYS HAI! )

The last person Deirdre ever expected to find at her door was Giles Raines. When the doorbell sounded, she expected a courier, since everyone she knew tended to walk right in. "I think I have a package!" Deirdre informed Juliette, her nanny. She handed her son Gabriel over to Juliette and then she bounced towards the door, pulling it open with a flourish and a grin which faded the second she saw Giles.

The room smelled like stale cigarettes, the stench clinging to everything around her. Deirdre was seated at the foot of the small bed, leaning forward with her arms wrapped tightly around her waist. Her red hair fell forward in waves, surrounding her face like an amber cocoon. She knew he would come. All she had to do was wait.

The darkness of the room faded as dim, morning light streamed in through the heavy, orange curtains. And Deirdre waited, silent and still. He would come for her. He always had, and he always would.
