It had been over two months, but finally Dylan had been released from hospital. It was little wonder he had been in for so long, since he had been hit by a car, and his injuries had been terribly severe. Lydia had been there for her boyfriend as much as she could, though it had been more difficult once school had gone back. She missed seeing him in the hallways of London College so much. They had been nearly inseparable for over five years. Being without him had been like missing a limb.

Or a lung.

Love is a funny thing )
Jeremy had spent most of his life as a hunter, so it might have seemed strange that he was so incredibly fond of children. In fact, he was great with kids, and his nieces and nephews were among his favourite people on the planet. He did, however, find Lydia and Anna's teenage squabbles tiring at times. He had to mutter under his breath that they would grow up eventually.

Oh dear god! )

This should be backdated a bit but I don't know how much!

As much as Peter hated flying, he loved going to the airport when it meant picking up someone he loved. His family was returning from their vacation in Spain and Peter could barely keep still while he waited in the international arrivals lounge of Heathrow airport.

Spiders were one of the things Peter feared most. He felt ridiculous admitting that, considering some of the things he had been through, but it remained a fact either way. Deep down beneath the Vatican, he had encountered several spiders and whenever he dreamt of that horrible place, the spiders were always there in his dreams, lurking in dark corners, waiting.

What is this bullshit?! )

"You know I think you're cool, right?"

Peter made his way down the stairs and into the basement guest room, even while carrying a tray of breakfast his wife had supplied him with to give to Jeremy. Apparently it was little matter that Peter himself was hungry. She wanted him to feed Jeremy first. Peter was fairly sure his brother was still asleep, and he grumbled about that the entire way down, though his ire was half-hearted. If Jeremy was awake, of course he wanted to feed the man.

Peter's family was feeling the doldrums of the After-Christmas Blues, but it did help to know that they would be jetting off to Valencia in the early hours of the morning. Spain was like a place of solace for all of them. A place where they could relax and enjoy their family. It was especially important now, after the loss of David. Family mattered, and tomorrow they would be literally surrounded by it.

Lydia had joined up with him while shopping. She had just managed to nearly stumble into him coming out of a shop, and for a moment there was the awkward exchange of two people who were embarrassed to have done such a nearly dreadful thing as getting in someone else's way, and then Lydia and Jason recognised each other at the same time. "You go to LC," Lydia said with a grin. "You're two years above me?"

Lydia entered her parents' room just in time to see her father bend over in a fit of coughing, which looked like it was rather uncomfortable. She leaned against the wall with a worried look on her face while Peter proceeded to cough so hard it sounded like he was going to lose a lung.

No, you are not okay! )

Peter was sitting on the end of his bed with his eyes closed when his fourteen-year-old daughter appeared in his bedroom doorway. Lydia saw Peter was not asleep, and she leaned up against the frame to wait for him to open his eyes. As he did so, Lydia entered the room slowly, wondering if it was alright to disturb him. "Dad?"
