Godric had gone with Serenity to the audition, so he had seen Serenity's interaction with Flynn. Flynn had happened to be there because he did live with Spectre and he hadn't wanted Spectre to be alone. Serenity and Flynn had hit it off right away, and that made Godric happy. He loved it when people he knew liked each other. Which was why he suggested they go visit her during his lunch hour while Flynn was loitering in his shop pretending to buy things but really 'hanging out' in his own obscure way.

"Are you sure she'll even appreciate a visit from me? Won't that be a little...I don't know...weird?"

Godric sighed and he twirled a baton from the 1950s around in his hand. "My dear Flynn, it would be weird if you didn't show up. Showing up and hanging out makes you human. Everything else, and you remain a symbol."

Flynn raised his eyebrows at this paragon of goth in front of him, twirling a glittery object with streamers expertly around his adept fingers. He was wearing a fishnet shirt, his fingernails were painted black, and he had a sort of cape on his back. "You look like a vampire cheerleader."

Godric snorted and he grinned. "Perfect! I'm so buying this! Some on, Flynnderiffic. I have lunch in 5 minutes." Godric pulled out his wallet and he deposited the money in the til. "Wanna give it a try until then?" He tossed the baton to Flynn, and it sailed through the air, pink and purple streamers stretched out by the wind. Flynn caught it expertly.

"Only if you take a picture and put it on the internet!" Flynn tried his best to twirl the baton, and Godric took several pictures of Flynn's attempts on his mobile for posting as Flynn had stipulated. "Arrgghhhh I should just stick to the bass!"

"I thought you were supposed to be smooth!" Godric rushed around the desk and he pulled the baton away from Flynn. "I've never seen you so unco, Savior. Now come on. It's lunchtime and being around antiques always makes me fucking famished." Godric checked the shop, and when he was sure it was empty, he flipped the sign and locked the door behind him before heading to Serenity's cafe. "I really think she'll be glad to see you."

"I hope so. She was really nice." Flynn fell in step with Godric, who twirled the baton the entire way. Flynn found it incredibly amusing when people stared at them in abject confusion. He even heard someone say 'aren't emos supposed to be sad or something?'. "You're pushing genre conventions, Godric."

"Oh fuck them, I'm not a fucking emu! I am an individual! And I like glitter. Here we go! Mariposa!" Godric stopped twirling and he pulled Flynn into the cafe. Serenity saw them enter, it was hard to miss Godric, and she bounced over to them a moment later.

"Flynn, Gryffindor! Come this way!" She led them to a table and grabbed a menu for Flynn. "Godric already knows what he wants. What's with the bling, Gryff?"

"Flynn here has decided I am a vampire cheerleader, so I'm embracing my newfound calling." Godric grinned.

"Whatever floats your boat, Skinny. Want to try a choclate orange mocha today?"

"Gross, okay!" Godric grinned and he turned to Flynn who looked terrified. "Just trust her."

Flynn looked up at Serenity and he smiled at her. She had auditioned for a band he was in and she hadn't gotten a place in it. He felt bad and now he had to act like a human, which was something he had only been practicing for about two years now. It wasn't always easy to know what to say. "Uhm...I'm sorry you didn't get into the band. You were really amazing..."

Serenity smiled and she patted his shoulder. "It's okay. I didn't expect to, but I thought I'd give it a go. What the hell, right?! I'm a pretty lucky girl, I can handle life as is. And you are a darling for coming in here and saying that." She leaned over and kissed his head completely without shame in full view of the other customers and Flynn chuckled.

"Well...I meant it."

"And that is why I am going to make you something special!! You like pistachios, right?"

Flynn blinked. "Er..."

"She's kidding, Flynn." Godric patted his hand. "You have to be gentle with Flynn. He's very...take-it-at-face-value, you know?"

"Oh FUN!" Serenity raised her arms in the air and then she pointed to the menu. "Want me just to bring you something awesome? Do you have anything you don't like?"

Flynn, who had eaten garbage to stay alive, was probably the world's least picky eater. "No. If it's edible, I'll eat it."

"I'll be back soon then!" Serenity disappeared and Godric leaned forward.

"I told you so. She's awesome, right?"

Flynn nodded. "Yes, but I thought so at the audition. She's so...effervescent. Is...does that sound like a compliment!"

"It does to me!" Godric said, spinning his baton. "She's gotten me out of a lot of scrapes too...believe me. I've known her since I was somewhere in the single digits. She talked me through telling my parents I was gay. Through being bipolar. Through...other things." Things he wasn't going to tell Flynn about yet because they hadn't been friends for that long. "She's awesome. I have a big old platonic crush on her."

"I have far too many of those," Flynn laughed. "Actually...I don't think you can ever have too many of those!"

"Who do you have a platonic crush on?!" Godric grinned and he bounced a little bit in his seat.

"Uhm...Deirdre Rose. Spectre, obviously. Spectre's husband. Adrina! She's so wonderful." Flynn didn't mention Tristan because that was not a platonic crush and to call it so would be disrespectful to Tristan in Flynn's mind. "I just think they're awesome."

"Awwww! You're adorable! I've been trying to tell Serenity she should date a gay boy anyway, because they would give her less trouble."

"Trouble?" Immediately, Flynn was no longer relaxed. He sat in his chair, rigid, his face lined with worry. "What kind of trouble?"

"She has this ex-boyfriend who won't leave her alone." Godric left out that he was almost 60. "Calls her all the time and shows up and stuff. She's been staying with her friends, and she wants to move out but it's hard in the city."

"Yeah. It is." Flynn had an idea, but he wasn't going to bring it up until he spoke to Adrina and Quinn about it. "People can be such jerks."

"Totally. All she needs is a gay boy. Obviously not for sex..."

Flynn snorted and then a plate was set in front of him, piled high with eggs benedict. The plate was garnished in a balsamic sauce, and the hollandaise was steaming. It smelled incredible and Flynn's stomach gave a tiny growl of appreciation. "Wow."

Serenity smiled and pushed her hair behind her ear. "My chef is an artist."

"My boyfriend used to live with a chef. That was awesome."

Serenity giggled. "Well I hope this meets your standards! It comes highly recommended. By me, of course. And I brought you chilli hot chocolate. I hope you like it spicy!"

"I do." Flynn took a sip of the hot chocolate and the face he made was semi-orgasmic. Then he tasted his breakfast-for-lunch and his eyebrows raised almost into his hairline. "Oh...oh my god."

"Good, hmm?"

"Oh, I just died."

Godric laughed and he jumped up to kiss Serenity's cheek. "You just gained another faithful fag. Congratulations."

"Fuck yeah! I could have an army!" Serenity raised her arms again and then she patted them both on the shoulder. "Eat well, boys. On me. Let me know if you need anything else. And come back often, okay?" That she said to Flynn and she gave him a wink.

Flynn nodded enthusiastically and he meant it.
