It wasn't often Peter actually took a planned lunch break. Planning things at the hospital was an exercise in futility. Inevitably Connie would consider it a good idea to run streaking past Bentley who would end up with a terrible nosebleed, or Paige would levitate something into someone's path and trip them, or someone would have a vision of impending doom that had to be dealt with right then and there. Peter had learned early on to avoid plans as much as possible, but some things couldn't be avoided. Patrick Finnegan was leaving the hospital to live in his own apartment and Peter wanted to sit with him for a meal. For that, he would make time and he actually believed by the time it was halfway through, that his plans would see themselves to the end.

They were not that lucky.

It had taken a long time for Patrick’s arms to heal and they still weren't completely better, but while he had convalesced, he had been fed with hearty and filling food and there had been no more torture and deprivation. He had to have a bedside service every day, but pretending to pray would never be as bad as the things he had suffered in the work room or during his forced fast. He had regained the weight he had lost while he had been purified and, though he couldn’t believe it, he actually looked better now than when he had come to this terrible place, lost to his alcoholism and slobbering drunk. He didn’t feel better, and he was scared shitless, but he looked healthier.

Peter had shown up at Razvan's house in the afternoon in what Razvan referred to as a 'tizzy'. He had demanded the demon's help and Razvan had complied though he seemed now like he was regretting it.

The town of Mic Oraş in Romania was a pious little town, well out of the way of the beaten path. Or any path. It was a Romanian Catholic town in the midst of a country which was predominantly Romanian Orthodox, and the inhabitants tended to keep to themselves. The town itself was so pious, that after ten at night, no one wandered the streets, save for the Night Watch. The villagers slumbered, knowing their well-being was attended to. They would not be robbed or harmed in the night.

Peter was exhausted. He had been relaying messages back and forth between Jerome and Saul and Dead Meat contacts everywhere, as well as playing Daddy and Hospital Owner and Friend and every single one of the other roles he fulfilled on a daily basis. So when his wife Aly found him standing in their kitchen pantry looking lost, she wasn't terribly surprised.

Great Timing )

Peter heard commotion outside his cell, but he didn't bother to look up. Someone was outside, which meant he wasn't alone. When they came inside, it wouldn't be nice. His relief at not being the last person alive on the planet was always short lived when it was followed by yet more torment.

"Thomas." Aly rushed forward and she embraced her husband's best friend with almost terrifying strength. Not that it hurt Thomas because he was a great deal larger than she was, but it still took him by surprise.

This sort of reads like Dadaism... )

Peter wasn't in the Templar compound in Rome. Saul didn't know where he was. Aly's husband was missing and she finally has the health and the knowhow to do something about it.

Saul was a very large man. Peter's neck was aching from looking up at him, but it was necessary because Saul was also a very smart man even if somewhat lacking in morals. "You haven't heard anything about Gavin?"
