Alisdair was looking at him and Patrick suddenly found it hard to think. His throat felt like it was closing up and his stomach clenched almost painfully.

It was new to Patrick, this dating a boy thing. He had been with his wife since he was a teenager. She was gone now, and he hadn't ever expected to fall for someone else. And then he had met Alisdair and Patrick found himself falling fast. Alisdair was so thoughtful and talented and he had this charming smile. Patrick knew The Templar wouldn't like it if they found out he had left their clutches only to fall in love with a man, but he tried not to let his fear of them rule his life.

Their time working on Bertolt Leidermann's album was coming to an end, and Patrick was afraid that if he didn't make a move, he would lose Alisdair. That was why he showed up at Alisdair's door, knocking and then looking awkward while he waited for someone to answer. He was going to ask Alisdair on a date. A real one.

Patrick didn't like leaving the hospital, but he knew if he didn't do it sometime, he would end up spending the rest of his life there simply because the Templar couldn't touch it. And that was dangerous. His life had to start again and in order to do that, he had to begin somewhere. In order to kickstart things, Patrick forced himself to attend an audition that was being held by Bertolt Johan Leidermann. He had been informed of the audition by the man himself, so Patrick felt he didn't have much to lose by going along. He and Johan had become friends, so even if he didn't make it past the audition phase, he still managed to leave the building in the company of someone he trusted.
