Alessandro Dragonetti was still feeling slightly ill, even with several hours of sleep behind him. He was glad that the proceedings on the history of the Templar movement were held in a place where he could sit down. He was sitting to the left of their leader, Bishop Ramsey. All the way down the large oak table, seated on either side of it, were his brethren. Those placed highly in the order. And all of them wanted to hear what he had to say.

Father Alessandro Dragonetti woke up in a bed, deep under the city of London. Above him, the sinful walked free and happy, unaware that they were aiding to usher in the age of the Antichrist. Dragonetti had been apprehended by one of the Antichrist's spawn, though he had managed to orchestrate matters from behind his worldly prison. And now his brothers, his comrades had seen fit to break him out and have him return to their number. Faking a death with the use of some rather miraculous drugs, rising from the dead...it was all poetic. Biblical. And now Dragonetti was going to see that the world was rid of evil and sin, and he would bring in the Power of the Church once again. Where Bishop Holden had failed, he would not. Dragonetti would not put his trust in a demon, who's heart was as mutable as the sea. He would only have faith in his God, his brothers, and himself.

When Dragonetti awoke on the cold, stone floor of the work room, he did so with both a headache, and a deep feeling of utter failure. He had had the heavenly being, Deirdre Gallagher, in his grasp. She had been right in front of him, and she'd gotten away. And while he believed she would not hace succeeded, were they at a better manned facility or had they been better equipped for her, Dragonetti had assumed that Caoilfhionn had Deirdre under control. It had been a stupid assumption. He had been stupid to trust her. He knew that now. There wasn't anyone else to blame. And for the first time, Dragonetti was glad that Holden wasn't around as his punishment for this fuck up would have been indeed severe. And Dragonetti had thought a week spent fasting was rough...

One thing that could be said about Peter Kemp...he kept his word. And it didn't matter who you were, that never changed. Caoilfhionn was given a room in his hospital and the door was not locked on her. She knew all she had to do to keep that very thing true was not to hurt anyone. Caoilfhionn liked hurting people, but she also liked Peter. And he was the only one who had ever been nice to her simply because he could be. Bishop Holden had been plenty nice. But Caoilfhionn had been plenty useful. Right up until she'd snapped his neck. Caoilfhionn wasn't going to snap Peter's neck. No. She did buy him flowers from the hospital gift shop with some money she stole...from the hospital gift shop. Luckily, he didn't know where the money had come from, and he didn't ask. He simply gave her a hug and that was when the call came. Ryn had found the Templar and he knew where they were keeping Emma.

When Dragonetti awoke, feeling like his entire body was filled with cement, he immediately remembered that he was being pursued by that evil piece of work, Peter Kemp. He tried to scramble away, but it was absolutely pointless, considering the fact that his body had no energy contained within it, whatsoever. The room swam into a blurry sort of focus and Dragonetti's eyes fell on a face, hovering above him. Dragonetti let out a small, fearful noise and the head cocked to one side. "Is this hell?" Dragonetti managed to whimper.

Walking down the street was no longer a terrifying thing. For months, the Templar had driven the city of London deep into a hole of fear, and no one felt safe going out on their own. Not even people who happened to know what was going on and were immortal. But the terror was over now. No more fires of hatred burned. People were rebuilding. Hope was returning. And Peter felt quite content as he walked, even if it seemed that spring was struggling for a toehold and he had to wear a thick jacket to feel comfortable.

Well, that IS what obsession gets you... )

Robert pulled at the restraints binding him, but there was no give. Nothing that would allow him to escape. No way out. They'd come to get him from the parochial house that afternoon. They'd told him they wanted a word. Robert had gone along, assuming that he was going to get to see the new base of operations for the inquisitors and then he'd be able to tell Peter where they were. He was half right. He was certainly shown the new headquarters beneath the stinking Thames. And then they'd clubbed him on the back of the head. He'd awoken tied to a pyre.
