Peter had given Katherine several days to cool off after their last fight. He'd regretted everything he'd said almost instantly, but he couldn't take them back. He could only make up for them. Once his sister left him alone long enough for him to get away from the house that is. She was always knocking on the door of the guest house, but if she was so determined not to talk to him before, Peter was even more determined not to talk to her now. He did NOT want her to be able to say she'd been right about Katherine all along. Because she wasn't. The whole fight had been Peter's fault. Clearly. Or so he believed because he didn't know any better.
After knocking on Katherine's door, Peter waited nervously, hoping he'd given her enough time to cool down. Maybe a few days wasn't enough?! He'd had the foresight to bring roses. Roses meant he was sorry. They would help him fix everything. Katherine answered the door and she raised her eyebrows. "What are you doing here, Peter?" She asked coldly.
She was beautiful. Peter licked his lips and caught his breath, and despite the fact that his heartrate had increased dramatically, he was actually able to say "I'm sorry. Katherine, I'm so sorry." It was a great victory as usually she rendered him either quite speechless, or so angry he said something stupid. He held out the roses and gave her his best 'I'm very sorry and stupid but still hopeful' face.
Katherine crossed her arms and didn't take the flowers. "Sorry for what?" She asked with her eyebrows raised.
Oh. Well. That wasn't as easy as they made it look in the movies. Wasn't she supposed to hug him tearfully and then there would be a musical montage of them forgiving each other and having makeup sex? Reality sucked. "For...for insinuating that you were sleeping with-" Even as he said the words, Peter heard a man clear his throat inside Katherine's flat. Peter turned red. "Katherine is...is that Phil?"
Katherine sighed and stepped out of her flat, pulling the door closed behind her. "Yes. He's my friend and he's cheering me up because my boyfriend was terribly mean to me the other day!"
Peter looked positively guilty. "I'm sorry." He said, his shoulders drooping. "I shouldn't...I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions. It just hurt that you didn't want me with you when you went out." Peter sighed and bit his lip. That was his fault too. He hadn't proven himself to her. He hadn't shown her that he could be fun and adventurous. "What can I do to make this better? I'll do anything."
The corners of Katherine's lips twitched. "Anything?"
Peter looked up, his expression once again hopeful. "Yes! I can be exciting and fun too. You just have to show me how. But I want to learn. I want to be with you. And I won't jump to conclusions again. I'll believe me when you tell me things."
Katherine finally smiled and she took the flowers. "Okay, Peter. We can go out again tomorrow night. But remember you said 'anything'."
Peter nodded excitedly. His girlfriend didn't hate him and they were going to go out again! "Anything you want." He walked closer and kissed her cheek. "See you tomorrow then, Katie."
Katherine smiled and touched Peter's nose. "I have some surprises in store. Bye, Peter." Peter grinned and he walked away backwards just so he could see her until she disappeared back into her flat and then he turned and headed away with a spring in his step.
Katherine sighed as she entered the apartment and she placed the roses on the table by the door. "He gone?" Phil asked softly.
"He is." Katherine said with a grin. "So you'd better come fuck me."
Phil grinned. "As if you'd have to ask twice."
