With heavy hands Jude laced up her combat boots and then pulled down her jeans to cover them. She didn't bother looking in the mirror as she left her room. What was the point? She was dressed plainly- without a designer name to be seen- and her hair was tied up in a ponytail at the nape of her neck.

She had to get out of the house. The thought consumed her as she walked down the stairs, each step making a thump. And she knew exactly where she was going. She knew where she was going every damn day when she left the house, but still she sometimes tried to fool herself it would be somewhere differant today.

It was a drug, a sickness, an addiction, and Jude couldn't stop herself. She wanted it. No, not wanted. But she did need it.

When she reached the bottom of the stairs she almost ran straight into Slink. "Oh," she said flatly. "Hey."

Stephie was on her way back upstairs after her shower and kitchen visit, bag of chips in hand because the concept of healthy eating was utterly lost on her. She'd had another nap after Scarlett left and was feeling less like a limp noodle and more like her old self. "Hey, Jude, where you heading?"

She spoke plainly. "I don't know what you're talking about." She moved past Slink, only bumping her shoulder against the other girl's slightly-on-purpose.

Stephie's arm shot out and she grabbed Jude by the wrist. "Jude, you're being stupid. Completely stupid."

"Let go," she told the other girl, turning her head to meet the other girl's eye. There was no threat in her tone. Jude didn't have the energy to make a threat.

"Going back where?" she demanded, sounding annoyed. "I'm not allowed to leave the house now? I'm going crazy in this place!" The last sentence was almost a shriek and she took a deep breath. "I need air."

"I'm not an idiot, Jude." Stephie snapped, "You told me you'd been back to your Father's house the day after Ry left and I think you've been going back there ever since Renee ended up in hospital, you need help Jude."

"I don't know what you're talking about," she said again, but this time there was a dangerous undertone in her voice and her eyes darkened. With a yank she pulled her arm free of Slink's grip and made her way toward the door.

"Okay, fine" Stephie said, marching through the door to the library and grabing the sweatshirt she'd left in there a couple of days ago. She pulled it on and followed Jude out the door barefoot. Her boots were upstairs, and she didn't want Jude to get a head start.
