Tuesday it was warm but raining, and Imogene had the heat cranked up too high in the car. Rachel wasn't going to risk anything by opening a window, despite the temptation to feel the rain on her face as they drove to school.

She was sitting in the back seat which made it easier to escape as soon as Imogene pulled into a park, Rachel shouted a Bye! behind her as Imogene started reminding Indigo that she still had to apply herself to every day if she wanted to get the best out of school. Indigo had heard this lecture before, and looked longingly after Rachel as she darted away. She kind of wished she could just get out of the car without a pep talk, but she knew better than to disregard her mother.
