Wednesday's child is full of woe (Rachel)

On Wednesday Rachel slept in.

Didn't hear her alarm. Didn't hear anyone calling her. Stumbled down to the kitchen as everyone was ready to leave the house.

Her dad snapped at her as he left for work and Imogene said that if she couldn't be ready on time she could walk in the rain, and left to drive Indigo to school without her.

Rachel went through Imogene's drawers to find some cash and called a taxi. While waiting for it to arrive, she ate cereal out of the box and sat on the floor in front of her dad's collection of CDs. Calm and methodical, she pulled them all off the shelf and put all the disks back in the wrong boxes.

Feeling more in control of herself and her circumstances than she had in ages, Rachel straightened her uniform and stepped smiling into the taxi.
