The carpet fibers stuck to the tape in the package John Doe had sent to the London Police, would eventually lead back to Kaufmann's Rug Factory, which was long since abandoned. The fibers were unmistakeable, as time was, Kaufmann's was the only place left in London to sell carpet dyed organically and not synthetically. The dye still ran, especially when exposed to chemicals. And John had no doubt the clues would lead the cops here to the factory. Though clearly he wasn't worried about it leading them there quickly, as he walked slowly around one of the dye vats, knocking his gloved fist against it occasionally.

Flynn was leaning with his back up against the wall of the house, lounging about on the roof. He was smoking, inhaling deeply to try to get himself to relax. It was easier out here, below the sky he'd become so familiar with when he didn't have a roof to sit on or to shelter him from the whims of Mother Nature. That was something he had never wished he didn't have to see again. The sky. There was something utterly serene and calming about it. And as he watched the clouds travel across it, and smoke swirled away from his lips, his spirit felt more serene.
