Deirdre walked Quinn to the door of Flynn's house, but Flynn threw it open before they'd even crested the stairs, and he darted outside to take Quinn into his arms. Quinn looked momentarily shocked, but then he smiled into Flynn's shoulder and he wrapped his arms around his boyfriend gratefully.

"I'll just leave you two alone then!" Deirdre said, louder than she needed to because she was amused. "Have good makeup sex!" And then she flounced away back towards home.

Quinn chuckled into Flynn's shoulder and then he kissed it. "Mal, I'm so sorry."

Flynn didn't cut Quinn off, because maybe Quinn needed to say it again, but he didn't actually need to hear it again. "I know." He said when he was sure Quinn wasn't going to continue. "I know you are." Flynn pulled back a little, but only so he could put his hands on either side of Quinn's face and kiss his forehead firmly. "I'm sorry for telling you to leave."

"Heh...I really don't blame you..." Quinn said uncomfortably.

"No, it a shite thing to do. I've been kicked out of a home before. And while my parents meant it and I didn't...I still shouldn't have said it. 'I need some alone time' works better than 'get out'."

"Yeah...but 'I'm having issues' works better than 'I don't need you'."

Flynn looked at Quinn quizically for a moment and then he kissed him again. "I can't argue with that." And then he looked around them. "We're still outside..."

Quinn laughed and he kissed Flynn right back. "Can you help me up the stairs?" He asked, proving that he did need Flynn's help, and Flynn rather got the point without it having to be said, that Quinn would ask. He didn't have to know what Quinn needed without Quinn saying anymore. He could relax.

Once they were upstairs, Flynn helped Quinn over to his bed and then he unashamedly crawled up onto it. "What are your issues?" Flynn asked, in that rather bluint way he had of saying pretty much everything.

Quinn shifted so he could see Flynn but so Flynn could still reach him. "I don't know. SO many things are different. You're different. In a good way, but it's still...it's strange. Strange to just wake up to that. And to find out Jade is dead." Quinn's fists balled in the sheets as he mentioned Jade. "She...when you came back you know...she and I had a...it might have been going somewhere, I'll never know. Because you showed up and all of a sudden, it was you and nothing else mattered. And I never told her I was sorry because...it was our fairytale. Like Renee says. And now...I'm doing the same thing to you and I know it's not easy and you feel bad and then I lose Jade all at the same time. It's hard."

Flynn nodded calmly and he reached out to touch Quinn's leg. "I know. I know it's hard. But that's one of the things I'm here for. To help you. I'm sorry I've been so...pushy. I was just...afraid you'd go away again."

Quinn inched forward a little and he touched Flynn's cheek softly. "I'm not going away again, Mal. That's not how this works."

"So...we can make a new fairytale then?" Flynn asked cutely.

Quinn chuckled. "Sure, if the princess can be a weird-looking, one-eyed man."

Flynn raised his eyebrows and he gave Quinn a cheeky look. "Who says you're the princess?!"

"Mal, you can disassemble a gun with one hand in thirty seconds." Quinn said dryly.

"Twenty four. And...good point...that is the most useful thing that can be done with a gun." Flynn smiled at Quinn. "Alright then, Princess...Thingy...does that make me Prince Charming?"

"You know...if you think about it, Princess Thingy isn't such a bad princess name for me, being a bloke."

Flynn laughed and then he practically pitched himself forward to lean against Quinn's chest. He wrapped his arms around Quinn and he kissed him then. "I love you. Let's never fight again."

"Well." Quinn said, rubbing Flynn's back. "The last time we argued was in December. Though I was asleep for three months, so I can only assume we're due for the next fight in February. We have plenty of time between now and then to avoid it." And hell, if all their fights lasted but a few hours that was better than some people who fought for days and slept on sofas. Quinn and Flynn had been through hell together. They could get through anything and the both of them knew it.

Flynn smiled against Quinn's chest. "Mmm. Good math. God I missed you. I missed this." Flynn reached out and he slid his hand up inside Quinn's shirt so he could brush his fingers against Quinn's skin.

Quinn let his eyelashes flutter closed and he smiled lazily. "This good. Math good. You good. I've been...remembering things. What Amaris did to me."

Flynn's fingers froze on Quinn's skin and he raised his head to look at his boyfriend, his chin resting on Quinn's chest. "Oh, Quinn..."

"I don't want to...can I talk about it another time?"

Mal nodded, though it looked funny, considering his chin was on Quinn. "Of course."

"Thank you. I...I think I just want to sleep. But I have to talk to Erik first. I need to tell him. I...I've been avoiding him because of Jade. But it isn't fair."

"I'll bring you the computer." Flynn said, kissing Quinn's chest all over before sliding from the bed to retrieve it.

"Hey, Mal?" Quinn called as his boyfriend crossed the room.

"Yeah?" Flynn asked, busying himself with cords and the like.

"Thank you. For...for not letting this...thank you for not being petty. For being above holding it against me. Thank you for giving me a home. Thank you for taking care of me. You did amazing things for me. Kept me out of a nursing home. Just thank you."

Flynn had stopped fiddling with his laptop and he was now watching Quinn quietly with a smile on his face. And when Quinn was finished, he said simply. "Well, I love you. So you're welcome," as if everything were that simple. And then he brought the laptop to Quinn as requested."
