Thomas was going to be a father. If everything went according to plan, anyway. If the baby was okay (oh, Thomas hoped, as he was already feeling insanely protective) and if everything worked out legally. His husband was Jax's baby's godfather and that meant that Thomas was going to be a father too. Spectre had been nervous about telling him, but he needn't have worried. Thomas loved kids. He would protect and love any child that happened to come his way. It just so happened that this one was. And much sooner than Thomas had expected.

It made him nervous, but for the first time in a long time, he was nervous in a good way. He still went to his mother to talk about it. There was no one better. Lavinia had just finished showering after her morning 'hustle' as she called it. Which just meant a quick walk or a jog around the park outside her house. She just thought hustle sounded cooler. She was still toweling her hair off with a bright pink towel when Thomas loped up the stairs to he living room. "Mums! I'm visiting!"

Lavinia grinned at her youngest son, and she moved the towel down around her shoulders. "I see that, you are quite large. Sit down before you burst your damn bullet hole open, Kid." She said, pointing at the sofa. It meant she was glad he had come over, and Thomas knew that.

Thomas laughed, but he did as his mother said. She had a point... "Sure thing. It's healing well though."

"Damn well better be." Lavinia said, moving in to the kitchen to make him some coffee, as Thomas was not a fan of tea. "How are you feeling?" She asked, afraid that he had come because he was feeling ill. He looked okay though...

"I'm fine, Mums! I feel better than I have in a long time."

Lavinia smiled at him through the door frame as she set the kettle to boil. "That's damn good to hear, Thomas." And it was. She had lost him 14 years ago. For him to be here now and finally doing well...it meant the world to her and more. "Are you eating to make up for Dumbarse Dumitra?"

"Heh..." Thomas looked momentarily disturbed, but then he nodded. "I really don't think there's a possibility I might forget to do that...I still don't think my body's quite caught up yet. I'm hungry all the time. Even just after eating. I don't know if it's a...this new body is finally healthy so it's frantically trying to preserve itself in case or what. It's annoying, but...hey, I like to eat."

"Have you spoken to your sister about it?" Lavinia asked, carrying Thomas in a steaming cup of black coffee. That was how he liked it.

Thomas grinned. Abby knew everything, and he adored her. "I did. She said pretty much what I just said. She can't be sure...she's never known anyone who came back to life before...well...Peter. But he was in his same body and stuff..."

Lavinia sat down beside her son and she patted his knee. "Well, we'll just watch out for you until we know what's going on. I can make you something now if you want!?" She suggested, looking quite excited about that fact. She loved cooking things for her kids. She loved feeding them, now that she could.

"Sure, Mums, if you want." Thomas leaned over to kiss her forehead. "Maybe you can show me how to make something. It...might come in handy, uhm...soon..."

Lavinia nodded and then she held her hand out to help Thomas into the kitchen before asking him about what he'd said. "You planning on poisoning people sometimes soon?" She asked, as she went about getting things ready to make some spaghetti as it was quick and filling.

"God, I hope not!" Thomas took a seat in one of the chairs, but he watched everything she did. "I uhm...Spectre and I were sort of...talking about having kids." He didn't know if he was allowed to tell Mums about Jax's baby yet, so he didn't. But he information in itself, was enough, as the second Thomas said it, Lavinia dropped the pot she'd been filling up with water, into the sink, causing a mighty crash. She hurried over to Thomas and she pulled him up again so she could hug him tightly.

"My Thomas!" She said into his chest.

"Mums...erm...you're not crying are you?" Thomas and worriedly, but he ran his fingers through her damp hair.

"Not yet." Lavinia admitted. "Oh, Thomas. You're going to be the best father there ever was."

"Heh...am I?" Thomas asked, now very nervous. He wanted to be a father more than anything, but what did being a father even mean? You know. Besides leaving your entire family with nothing...

Lavinia looked up at her son and she saw the doubt in his eyes right away. "Of course, Thomas. You love so easily and so much. I can't wait!"

"I'm just...afraid that I won't know how because of Bernard..."

"Bullcock, Thomas. Joe is the kind of father I always hoped he would be. Hell, he's even more amazing than I imagined. And Ellie is such an amazing mother. So is Abby and she was thrown right into it. Just because you didn't have a father around to show you how it's done, doesn't mean you don't know already. You kids took care of each other at a time in your lives when kids don't usually have to do that. All you need to do, is just that. Take care of your children with everything you have in your heart."

"Like you, Mums?" Thomas asked softly.

"Something like that, yes." Lavinia smiled brightly. "And any questions you have, you can always ring me at 3 in the morning, panicking. Or even Peter, he'll probably be awake. And he's an excellent father. You have no end of support around you. You'll be fine."

"Does Joe ring you at three am?"

Lavinia snorted. "Honey...a few weeks ago I had Joe ring me at 2, Eleanor at 3 and then Abby rang at 4 because Mara was mumbling in her sleep and she was concerned. Everyone needs help. And I loved that night even though I got no sleep because it meant you all still...want me."

Thomas' eyes narrowed at that and his hands went immediately to Lavinia's. "Mums...of course we do! You haven't ever thought otherwise, have you?"

Lavinia shook her head. "Thankfully, you all have never give me enough time to myself to get the chance. Keep it that way."

Thomas chuckled and his kissed his mother's hair. "You can bet your balls on that, Lavinia Littleton. Now. Teach me how to make this...what is it, soup?"

Lavinia made an incredulous noise. "Let's just...start from the beginning." She walked over to the sink and pointed at the pot. "This is a pot..."
