Johan's verdict was about to be read out, and he couldn't help but feel a wave of terrible fear appearching as the jurors filed into the room to take their seats. They were about to decide on his future here. He had spent far too long in Hell already. And today, he would know if he was condemned to despair there for a crime he didn't believe in his heart to be wrong.

The trail was not going well. Anyone could see that. Johan wasn't terribly surprised, as he had done the thing they were all here to prove was not his fault. He could feel the eyes of the jurors, judging him. And probably not in the way he wanted to be judged.

The Trial )
Sometimes, Peter found, complaining was a fantastic way to get what you wanted. He had learned this because he not only had seven children, but he also had...Deirdre. And complaining to the cops that he wanted to see his cousin had gotten them to relent in the end, when he had finally played the 'I own a hospital so I should be allowed in the infirmary' card.

The transfer to a holding cell while he awaited his trial had not been put back after the news of Werner's death. Apparently, in the minds of the justice system, Johan had had his time off, and now he was on their time, grieving or no. It didn't help that Werner's suicide made him look even more guilty. If his husband couldn't stand to be around to support him while he faced a trial and a prison sentence, that had to mean something, right?

Peter was sitting on the kitchen bench, eating an apple and debating reading more of his mother's correspondence when his Uncle Gabriel entered the kitchen. Peter squeaked and jumped off the bench as if he was afraid Gabriel would punish him for his misbehaviour even though this house was no longer Gabriel's home, but Peter's. Gabriel was so much like Peter's father sometimes, that his very presence was enough to scare the shit out of Peter. Today, however, he needn't have worried. Gabriel didn't even notice. "Peter." He said shortly, his voice perturbed.

Here's Peter, fixing other people's problems again... )

The smoke curled up from Peter's lips, as his Uncle Gabriel answered the door before Peter even knocked. Peter looked startled for a moment and Gabriel laughed. "Saw you coming." He explained with a smile.

So, about you and my dad... )

Liz knocked lightly on Lydia's door. Peter was on the floor playing Candyland with Lydia and Anna. "Come in!" He said and then he let out a yelp. "Oh no fair!" Liz entered and raised her eyebrows. "I keep getting stuck in the darn candycane forest! And Lydia said that leaving a trail of gumdrops behind to follow was cheating." Peter said, making his face as serious as possible.
