The day was beautiful. Sunny despite the winter month, and in the cheerful little reception centre that Liz and Emma had booked, the welcoming gallery had been decorated quite tastefully by the incredible Fiona. Stuart was officiating, as he'd maintained his ability to do so in a secular fashion after leaving the church. And he was quite pleased about the fact that he was about to unite two wonderful women in wedded bliss. Take that, Catholicism.
Emma was accompanied down the aisle by Zoe, Fiona, and Tasha, her green dress setting off her eyes. Liz was accompanied by Kat, Hope and Peter, who did look a little weirded out to be serving as a maid of honour, but through that, it was obvious how proud he was to be standing beside Liz. His wonderful sister. He wouldn't have had it any other way. Liz's dress was pale blue, and they looked gorgeous standing next to one another, hand in hand. As they said their vows, Peter cried, followed by Hope who could never have dry eyes when someone else was sobbing.
Upon hearing Stuart say, "You may kiss the bride...s.." Liz and Emma embraced and locked lips followed by applause, started by the still sobbing Hope who was just happy to see her mothers looking so blissful. And then after they all exited the little chapel, Hope stuck her head back inside.
"To the party!" She said excitedly, leading them on to the reception.
