Danny breathed slowly, trying not to panic as Rachel held on to him. Eventually his breathing slowed, and he was able to relax back against the pillows. "I love you, you know," he said, just to her. He needed her to know that, especially if he didn't make it through this. "I just- I just wanted to get back to you. I tried to fight, but it was too hard after a while. Greg stopped feeding me much. Made me weaker."
