It did seem a little like forever while Danny cried. He held on to her for so long he lost track of time. He had been so sure he would never see her again, never hear her say she loved him. Now here she was, and Danny wasn't really sure whether it was better that he hadn't managed to off himself before anyone had found him. What was her life going to be like now? She would bend over backwards to be there for him and he hated knowing he was going to make things difficult for her.
"Mum," he finally said, his voice weak and shaking. "Mum, I- I'm sorry. I don't- I should have let you take me away."
