Sometimes wings still shocked Zoe, their sudden and unnatural appearance, defying all laws of physics (or all the laws Zoe knew) and their imbued and frightening power. Not today though, not here. Here, wings were normal, expected. Even Deirdre's voice, loud as ever, didn't make her jump. She moved when Deirdre said move though, and wrapped her arms round Danny to help him up and make sure he was out of Deirdre's way too.
