As the other teenage girl appeared on the landing Rachel stepped quickly forward away from Zoe. She didn't know anything about Hope apart from the fact that Zoe sometimes spoke about her with exasperation. Mostly they didn't talk about families. But she worried that Hope was going to be just like her own step sister, Indigo-Hope, who would give her hell for any suspicion that Rachel might be into girls. Indigo thought Rachel was weird enough.
Rachel smiled thinly and nervously at Hope and didn't say anything to greet her, instead she turned to Liz. "I can't imagine living in the house I grew up in, it must be so weird!"
