"What happened?" Kay finally asked, speaking slowly in a cracked voice. She didn't direct the question to Peter - the person she always counted on for having the answers - and instead to Abby. She took Peter's hands that he offered and stood, but let go of them quickly so that he could pay more attention to Autumn, Flynn, Annette and Crystal. She took hold of Carla and pulled her gently to her feet.
