Being in the room where he'd been when he'd made the decision to settle matters within himself did a fairly good job of pushing that objective back to the forefront of his mind. But having it there just made the air in front of him heavy with words he wasn't yet saying.

He'd come over to Anna and Charlie's, in Charlie's absence. The first DVD that they'd watched came to an end. Ry bit the corner of his lip. It was a very feminine trait, but he wasn't the most feminine of males. He was reassured somewhat when Anna looked across to him, and smiled at him. He smiled back.

She was quieter than her best friend Charlie. He liked that about her, being often a fan of quietness himself. Not that he minded Charlie's bounciness, anymore than he minded it from Renee, Stephie, or Chloe. But it was nice that he could get both quiet and loudness when he came over to Anna and Charlie's.

Before Anna could ask about what movie to watch next, or whether he wanted to watch another one, Ry said to her, "I want to ask you something."

Anna shrugged as she paid her attention to him, seemingly prepared for anything. "Sure. Shoot," she told him.

Anna exhaled a little bit of a nervous laugh, and ducked her head. "I said that, didn't I?" she said. Hearing it said out loud, not online, and complimented over the internet, had a way of making the prospect sound, in a word? Incredulous. "Have I mentioned that I'm prone to fits of fancy?" she questioned, tilting her head and looking back up at him.

Oh he did, did he? Anna had to stop herself from jumping to conclusions from his words. He was a flirt. She knew that about him, and accepted that. It just meant that she needed to be a little bit more careful, when he was flirting with her, not to take it too seriously. "Heh," she said out loud, to sum all that stuff up. "I swear that post was posted ages ago. What made you think to bring that up?"

"What, do you mean like the occult? Or are you just making fun of...?" Anna started, already starting to shake her head.

Reassured of that, Anna relaxed again slightly, and thought more of the topic. "I'm not very good at magic practice. I mean, I've read a lot of texts, some history, some, I suppose, 'tricks of the trade', but I've never really been able to make any of it work. Still, there must be something to it. Otherwise, why would so many people believe in it for so long? There are a lot of books on supernatural stuff, and shops."

"What?" Anna asked, game to join in on his good humor, but not if it was aimed at him. She tried to suss him out again, but only failed. "Are you laughing at me?"

"You do," Anna said, feeling her words honestly, but biting her lip in case they had come out more earnest than the situation warranted. She waited a few moments, not wanting to be seen as pouncing on him. "You're welcome to talk over things with me anytime," she offered.

Anna's heart gave a little leap, but she inwardly congratulated herself on the small nod and smile that she offered him in return. "Did you want to watch another DVD?" she asked.
