"Oh! Sorry." Layla grinned at Paul, and pointed to the dish she'd got the spoon from. "It goes over there," she said, not even thinking about the fact that she'd licked it all over. "I won't do it again," she told him with a sweet smile. The fact was, sometimes Layla just stole things out of habit. It didn't even really register to her that she was doing it.
Pierre looked up and observed the small family group heading out. "I wonder what that's about?" He rose and headed over there, making sure not to leave Fiona behind in the meantime. "Guys, what's up?" he called. Upon moving closer, Hope wasn't looking too flash. It seemed like her cold had gotten a lot worse since she'd been here.
"That'll be a long visit," Alexei said with a wink. He turned to Owen, and placed a hand lightly on his shoulder. "Cheer up, tovarisch. It's Christmas, and we are all good men now. We have in our hearts the same thing, the care for your little sister."
