The burned out hulk of what had once been Digital Anachronism Studios came in to view, looking like a grotesque skeleton amidst the backdrop of the cold London night. Lavannah looked up at it as they approached, gripping Rosa's hand tightly. They weren't even inside yet, but already Lavannah could hear the souls trapped inside, begging for their freedom. Someone to help them. Screaming and crying in frozen anguish. They hadn't known their fate because the tragedy that was the Vanity Faire video shoot had caught everyone by surprise. It was a horrible shock to the system to suddenly be dead. Some of the trapped souls didn't even understand that they were yet. But Lavannah was coming for them.
Rosa cocked her head to the side as they neared the back entrance, and she squeezed Lavannah's hand softly. "Rosa right here." She assured the medium, knowing that Lavannah was feeling terribly nervous.
Lavannah didn't answer with anything beyond a nod. But that she gave. Then she ducked inside what had once been a door, though she was willing to go no further than that. The oppressive atmosphere of the place was alarming all of Lavannah's senses and, at the very least, she didn't want any debris falling on her from above. Rosa stood guard as Lavannah went into a trance letting Louise take control, well used to the procedure by now. It was like falling asleep and slipping in to a warm bath that hugged you all at once. As Louise rose to the forefront, she called the lost spirits of thise that had lost their lives in the fire. She told them if they wanted to leave, she would show them the way. Explained that they were dead. That it was the end, though they could stay if they wanted. Nothing would quite be the same.
The air seemed to hum, though Lavannah didn't hear it. She never heard it. The only difference she noted was that, once it was all over and she had retained control of her body again, the building lay in silence. Lavannah hardly ever heard silence. There was always someone talking, laughing, weeping, whispering, screaming. Now there was nothing. The studios were clear. The lost souls were safe. Lavannah and Louise had done their job, and done it well. Lavannah stood and she turned to Rosa. "Can you feel that?"
Rosa looked at Lavannah, her face lined with inquiry. "No. Feel nothing."
"Exactly. Let's get ice cream!" Lavannah said excitedly.
Rosa certainly wasn't going to argue with that.
