Baby Thomas had the amazing ability to get food all over himself and the surrounding premises when he was spoon fed. It was always extremely impressive. It made Peter laugh as he fed Thomas as the tiny boy say in his high chair, Peter in his wheelchair. "Yes, cereal is nummy, yes it is?! You like it more on your head, don't you. It's not for hair, you little rascal!" Peter cooed at him. He fed Thomas another bite and Thomas promptly spit out half of it, wiped it with his hand and then flailed his hand about so it ended up in Peter's hair as well. "Yes...I suppose it's easy enough to think my hair is hungry, isn't it?" Peter said with a chuckle.
Aly wandered in to the kitchen and she raised her eyebrows and the mess. "How's Old Faithful then?" She asked, amused.
"Geysery, as ever. He only swallows half of it. Maybe he's going to be a performance artist?!"
Aly laughed and she took a closer look at Thomas. "Oh dear. I'll give him a bath in a minute. Then...when he's napping, I could give you a bath too..."
Peter bit his lip. He wasn't feeling completely over the fact that she'd slept with someone else while believing he was dead. And he certainly wasn't up to that. "I can...probably manage.." Though the minute he said it, he felt guilty as Aly's face fell.
"Fine." Aly picked Thomas out of his high chair.
"Wh..hey, Aly! I didn't mean anything by it!"
Aly sniffed. "I understand. I'll use the upstairs bathroom so you can use the one down here." And she stalked out of the kitchen.
Peter frowned and he looked down in to the bowl of cereal in his hands. "This is all your fault." He said to it, just because. Then he put it on to the counter and headed in to the bathroom as she said because while he wasn't necessarily as afraid of germs and dirt anymore, he was still covered in goo. He could still stand for brief periods of time, despite the weakness of his muscles, and he was able to manouver himself in to the pleasantly hot water even if it did take a while. Once he was in, he washed the cereal out of his hair and then he leaned back, allowing his muscles to relax. And so he could enjoy the bubbles. Because he did love bubble baths.
And then big Thomas walked right in, unfazed by the idea of his best friend wet and naked. Really, he rather liked it. "Hi, Peter! Cheer me up! I'm sad. Wow...your head is weird-shaped when your hair is all wet and flat..."
Peter gave Thomas an odd look. "Oh. Thanks so much."
Thomas took a seat on the edge of the tub. "Your head is so small..." Thomas cocked his own head and examined Peter's.
"Ahem. Thomas, why do you need cheering up?"
"I had to take Spectre to the doctor's. He's with Deirdre now, auditioning some drummer in a garage for his band. Rock stars, eh?"
Peter was instantly worried. "Is Adrian alright?!"
"Well, that's what we're finding out. He should be. Hey, you know that hole they put in your skull when you had the tumour...when you wash your hair or if it rains or something, does water get in your head and does your brain float around in it...?" Thomas's eyes widened. "Oh EW, does it leak back out when you lie down?!"
Peter froze and his stared at his best friend for a minute before he squeezed his eyes shut. "Right. I hereby forbid you to ask questions. Ever..."
"Aww." Thomas frowned. "That's not cheering me up." Idly, he popped a bubble with his index finger.
"My head does not leak!"
Thomas laughed. "That's probably for the best."
Aly entered the room then, leaving the door open slightly. She was carrying baby Thomas in her arms and she nodded to big Thomas. "Hello."
"Hi, Miss Aly!" Thomas said, waving at Aly cheerfully.
"HI!" Peter said pointedly.
"Hello, Darling. I just...I wanted to apologise for earlier. I didn't mean to be huffy."
"That's okay. I love you."
"I love you too." She turned to the baby in her arms. "Say 'bye bye' to daddy!" She said, making his hand wave. "Bye bye, Daddy!"
Peter waved back as little Thomas squealed "Dadadada!"
Peter saw up straight, causing quite a disturbance to his bathwater as it sloshed about. "Did...he just say 'Dada'!?"
"I think technically he said it twice..." Thomas remarked.
"Dadada!" The younger Thomas repeated because he liked the reaction it had gotten the first time.
"He DID say dada!" Peter said happily, and then, much to his horror, Aly leaned out of the open door and called Gavin and Katia in to the bathroom.
"Thomas just said 'Dada'!" She told them happily. Gavin looked at older Thomas and raised his eyebrows until Thomas pointed at the baby with a grin on his face.
"Oh! Fantastic!" Gavin said, now that he understood!
"DAdadadadada!" Baby Thomas said, waiting for clapping.
Peter wasn't so thrilled now though, as everyone around him cooed at his son. He was still naked in the bath. He covered himself up with his hands and looked at them warily. "I'm in the BATH!" He finally said when the cooing had died down.
"You just don't want people to see your girly bubbles." Thomas winked.
"Uhm...no I don't want people to see my-"
"Pfft, we've all seen that, Peter." Thomas said, looking around the room.
Gavin raised his hand. "Uhm...I haven't. But that's okay with me..."
Katia giggled and she wiggled her eyebrows at Aly who looked quite pleased with herself. "Oi! Secret women code!" Peter said, pointing at Aly and Katia before realising that meant he was uncovered. He quickly amended the situation. "No discussing my...bits!"
"You hardly have anything to worry about." Aly said with a wink.
Peter whimpered and Gavin promptly turned red and left. Thomas grinned. For him, it was like christmas! He turned to Peter. "Hey, can we make bubble castles?!"
"OUT!" Peter yelled, though he was only half serious.
