Peter had been on the phone trying to track down Saul in Rome...which was not an easy thing, even with Gavin and Rolf's help. He'd spent so much time immersed in his own frantic little world, that the knock at the door made him answer the phone and shout, "hello!?" into it before he realised he may be going slightly mad. And it was cold outside and he should let his visitor in.
