Peter had witnessed Deirdre's rapid turnaround on her journal the previous night, and he hadn't wanted to say anything because it seemed like a better idea to pay her a visit and ascertain what was going on with her in person.

He arrived at Vic Lane and let himself inside as he always did. Deirdre wasn't in the kitchen which was where one normally found her. She wasn't in her recording studio either. And since Peter wasn't about to call out her name in a house full of babies who might be sleeping, he mounted an all out search and he found her in the living room, relaxing on the sofa with a mug of what looked like water. "Ah, there you are. Is everything alright, Sweetheart."

"Hi, Peter!" Deirdre smiled at him, but she didn't leave her spot on the sofa. Instead she reached out to take his hand in hers. "Everything's fine, I just feel a little pukey."

Peter smiled and he knelt down beside her. "I'm sorry, honey. Are you drinking hot water?"

"Yeah. Herbal tea smell is just....not good. And I can't have caffeine. What's up, Peter?"

"I wanted to see how you were. I read your journal. You seemed pretty upset over what Jude said to you." Peter didn't judge what Jude had said, but he was worried that Deirdre was repressing her feelings on the matter. A moment later, however, she shrugged and smiled again and Peter's worry on that topic faded away.

"It's alright. I've said worse things to you and here you are holding my hand." Deirdre grinned so widely, her nose wrinkled. "It'll work out. Everything works out."

"You sound like hippies." Peter informed her and he was delighted when she laughed merrily at him. She had a gorgeous laugh. "Well, I suppose I was worrying for nothing. Which is a nice change."

"Not for nothing, Peter. It means a lot to me that you were worrying at all." Deirdre brought his hand to her lips and she kissed it. "You're always so kind and good, do you know that?"

"I...I certainly like to think that's what I'm going for." Peter nodded. Deirdre wasn't exactly sounding like Deirdre, but Peter was pretty good at reading people, apparently Aly excluded. And Deirdre he could generally read like a book...mostly because the demon wasn't terribly good at hiding her emotions. She seemed perfectly genuine and utterly blissed out. It was strange, but certainly not something he was going to question. It made him happy that she was happy. "I'm glad you weren't too upset last night."

"Eh, why get upset." Deirdre waved her hands around. "I'm happy. I still have Kaitie, and sure I don't have Renee anymore, but that was my fault. And she's happy too, and she deserves that. Hey, we have forever anyway, right? Who knows what might happen in the future. I want to get our friendship back on track and we will. I have this baby, and I'm going to be a wonderful mother. I can do it and have my career, just like Spectre does. I know it'll be hard, but I'll have help. With help you can do anything. I know babies are exhausting, but I can take time off. David runs the theatre so he doesn't need me. I do my course online and I can defer a few semesters because I actually do have forever to finish... Kaitie and this baby and I are going to be happy, you know? Really happy." Deirdre grinned at Peter again and she pulled him closer. "Will you stay for a little while?"

"Of course I will, Sweetheart. I'm proud of you."

"I know." Deirdre nodded and then she winked. "I'm proud of me too. We're watching Black Books! And you're giving me a foot rub because you're awesome like that."

Peter snorted and he shook his head in amusement. It was nice to know that even if she was growing and working on how she expressed her emotions, Deirdre was still essentially Deirdre.
