Johan was sitting on his balcony, staring up at the moon while drinking his third glass of wine. His bruise had long since faded, and he was quietly coming to terms with the fact that he wouldn't have his Werner with him for all that much longer. Now that terrible things had happened in London, namely the murder of Jax Panic by her lover, not to mention Quinn's assault and resulting brain damage and it's effect on Quinn, Johan realised how lucky he was. He got warning. He knew what was coming, and when it finally happened, it wouldn't be a horrible shock that jarred his system and shook his faith. He was going to miss his Werner terribly. But he was thankful that they had time to say goodbye.
Johan's townhouse was located on the top level of a small little street in downtown Vienna. Johan loved this city. It hummed with life and love and even at night, it didn't rest. Even now, under the moonlight, he could hear people laughing and talking. People living. That was what he loved so much about the city of Vienna. People here were full of life. They hadn't seen the trauma that London had seen, though they knew of hardship. It was a laid back society. People treated each other with respect. And he was sad to leave it.\
Johan heard a rustle of motion behind him and he took another sip of wine and then he turned to catch sight of Werner, which always brought a smile to his face. "Why hello there, Handsome. Come to join me?"
"There's nothing I would rather do." Werner sat next to Johan slowly, stealing Johan's wine the moment he had. "Mmm. Good year." Werner joked, as he had no idea what year the red was from, nor did he care especially. It was good wine, but that was where his knowledge ended.
"Thanks, Wanker." Johan laughed and he nudged Werner playfully. "You feeling okay?"
"I am tonight. We'll see how tomorrow goes. I hate to leave this city..." Werner had lived here all his life, unlike Johan who had grown up in Dresden. "But we must do what we must do."
"I'll show you pictures sometimes." Johan said, leaning forward to kiss Werner's cheek as Werner finished off his wine. "And we can watch that...Mozart movie or whatever it was. Amadeus."
Werner chuckled. "Alright. I think I can handle that. Johan...thank you."
Johan looked up at his lover in surprise. "Werner, whatever for?"
"For...everything. For spending the last ten years with me and still being willing to spend....however long by my side."
Johan gave his lover a fond look and he gently took the empty wine glass out of Werner's hand. "Werner, my love...I would spend forever by your side."
"I want you to marry me, Johan." Werner said firmly, his hand clasping around Johan's. "Please. Nothing fancy. Just a certificate..."
Johan looked quite shocked at that. Marriage had never entered in to this. Mostly because it hadn't been an option before, though it was in London. But they both knew where they stood and they didn't need marriage for that. "Well...of course, Werner, but why?"
"I want you to be Alastair's step-father. Officially. I would hate for you two to lose touch after...you know. I want you to be family. Legally. If he gets sick or...anything. I want you to be able to make decisions."
"Werner..." Johan reached out to stroke Werner's cheek. "I would always look after your son. You know that. I wouldn't lose touch with him. I love him." Johan smiled at Werner and he leaned forward to kiss him. "Of course I'll marry you. I would be glad to. We'll do it as soon as possible when we're back in London. I love you."
Werner heaved a great sigh of relief. Having everything be official...knowing he was leaving his son with a father who loved him even though he was being deprived of one at the same time...that was more reassuring than he could ever possibly explain.
