Elijah was just fine taking a moment to sit and try to take stock of what was happening himself. Because of the horrors Aly suffered with David in her head, he had been sharing his experiences slowly with Elijah. That meant he was sitting in the living room of a complete stranger despite the voice in his head which was half begging him to go hold her.
He took the beer and held it up as if to say cheers before taking a deep drink. "I don't know how to make him talk ag-" there was a pause and then, once again, David took control of Elijah's mouth.
"Aly and I had been helping out on a raid against the Templar," David explained, as simply as possible. "Elijah's been working against them for years and he was with us. I feel his goodness-" Elijah's face screwed up at the phrasing, but David kept talking, which had to look deeply strange, "the moment I met him. It's a rare thing to come across someone who deserves to be an angel. When Elijah was shot and dying, I just jumped before I even really realised what I was doing. I just couldn't let him die."
