Danny wanted to go anyway, not especially caring if he hurt himself, but Cai seemed to be on top of it, and Zoe looked livid. He groaned and settled back against the pillows as he finally made out what was being said and then recognised the voice. It was his father, berating his mother for not telling him where Danny was.
There was the sound of a loud slap, and then Ross burst into the hospital room, his hand cradling his cheek, and he nearly ran straight into Cai. "Fuck. Caius," he said, looking down at his younger son, his expression cold. "Get out of my way."
