Zoe nodded, though she wasn't entirely sure anymore. "Yes," she said. "I'm sure Rachel'll be clever enough not to flaunt it, and I've seen her room, it's got enough stuff in it that there's plenty of hiding places."
She remembered watching Rachel squeeze out the tiny top window to reach her arrow, because her bigger window didn't or wouldn't open. Although even if the window did open, it was still a bad drop to the ground. Possible, but bad. Zoe didn't like thinking of Rachel trapped in her room without an escape route, or any way to call for help.
"And you can buy it, if you want to," she added, giving him a small smile to say she was sorry for stepping on his protective toes. They would be good for each other, Zoe thought.
