The candelabrum hit the demon in the temple, and it caused him to lose the grip on Peter's soul. The demon stumbled backwards and Peter grabbed Svetlana's hand, pulling her towards the stairs. They were stronger together.
Thomas and Mary had reached the basement, and as Peter had described, it was lined with cells. They had originally been home to the clergy, but now...who knew. "Lavannah?" Thomas called out.
Lavannah was sitting in a corner, her face against her knees, when she heard the familiar voice. "T...Thomas?" Her voice cracked and stuck in her dry throat. "Thomas!?"
