Julian loved Christmas. It was harder these days, without his mother and his baby sister around. It hurt being merry without them, but they had made it through last year, and this year they would do the same. They would get Adam through his first year without Crystal, just as he had gotten them through their first year without Jordan and Jaida.

It was just what the Littletons did. They banded together and they loved.

Noah was sick.

Peter had fallen asleep in his office, which was pretty usual behaviour for him. He never really slept fitfully anyway, and so he spent hours pouring over manuscripts and patient files until he dozed off, face down in his busy work.
