It was not a happy homecoming. Despite the fact that the tour had been an amazing experience for everyone involved, and that it had been a great success, learning about the death of Charon and the imminent death of Jax Panic had put everyone in a terrible mood. Especially Spectre, and who could blame him. Instead of cries of joy as the band trickled into the arrivals lounge at Heathrow, familes and lovers greeted each other with cries of grief. Deirdre practically fell into the arms of Renee and Kait. Autumn was quick to latch onto Timothy, with Victor standing behind her looking like an unhappy statue. Mara flung herself into Spectre's arms while Abby hung back. Thomas was nowhere to be seen, but that didn't panic anyone, as no one except Peter knew he was back yet.

Thomas had wanted to be at the airport to welcome his husband home. He really had. But the thing was that Peter had brought him back to help out with London, and part of that was making sure that everyone got off to Romania okay and keeping Peter's family safe as well. He hadn't gone to the airport arrivals lounge to greet Spectre because he was already there in the departures area, sitting with Aly and Peter's kids as they bid their father farewell. No one except them knew Thomas was back anyway. Thomas's family would be there to support Spectre and Thomas would join them soon enough. It was hard to balance duty, obligation and what he felt in his heart, but he would ensure that everyone had time.

Ryan was packing his bags, and Justine was standing by his door mournfully, knowing something terrible had happened, but only knowing the bare essentials of it. Two close friends of Ryan's were dead outside of London. At least one of them would soon be back in London, and Ryan was aiming to be there before they came.

As he came towards her, Justine moved away before he had to push her past, understanding that he probably didn't even register how close he had come to doing that a couple of minutes before in the living room.

Quinn was going to live. Or at least that was what Flynn kept telling himself and anyone else who would listen. He'd been beaten before. And sure, once he was better he would be down one eye, but they could make jokes about pirates and cabin boys and wenches because if anyone could accept something terrible like losing an eye and take it on board (much like a pirate) it was Quinn. Captain Quinn. Flynn would buy him a parrot and they would laugh. He was going to live. He was strong. He'd made it through so much. He wasn't dead.

Not yet.

Flynn had been wandering since leaving the hospital, sticking to the streets he knew he belonged to. It was as if he'd never belonged to anyone else. Never belonged to Quinn again. It would have been better that way. Just to have had the memory of his Quinn back then...no...his Ardal back then, than to have him again, only to have him so cruelly ripped away. He could have believed that his Ardal was off with someone else. Happy and filfilled. Flynn had imagined that often over their years apart. He had imagined that his sacrifice had meant that Quinn could find someone else and start a family together. He wished he had that back. This was far too much.
