Having his beloved parents attacked was not exactly conducive to study, Julian discovered. He had left his daughter in their care in London, and now he was terrified for her saftey as well as theirs. He was separated from them while his father was in hospital from a gunshot wound, with no option to go see them until the weekend. And he was supposed to be focusing on his exams.

Good luck.

He couldn't even leave the house to get a little something to calm him down because his Uncle Adam was home as well, fretting about his best friend and brother being injured. Adam couldn't leave either because it was Julian and Damon's last week of exams and he didn't want them to be alone during that.

Julian sat at the kitchen table with his head in his hands, hair sticking out through his fingers, trying to focus on his notes. He had risen early to get in the studying he hadn't done the previous night. It was six thirty in the morning and the words he had written were blurring on the page. And then suddenly in front of his eyes, a large and steaming mug of coffee was placed on the table in front of him. Julian followed the wrist to the arm and up to the face of his wonderful coffee-bringer and he found himself looking at his beloved boyfriend, Damon. "Oh, you brilliant man." Julian rose from the table and he hugged Damon tightly. Damon chuckled and he hugged Julian back.

"Caffeine." Damon didn't use more words than were necessary, and that got the point across just fine. Without words, his expression told Julian that Damon had faith that everything was going to be alright. He loved Joe and Jordan too. And little Aislinn and Jaida of course. But if he was worried, he would have said. His silence on the subject more than confirmed his faith.

"Just what I need." Julian stepped back and he kissed Damon deeply. "And a bit of that too."

Damon grinned and he kissed Julian one more time. Then, much more quietly, he added, "Friday."

"Oh trust me, I'm hanging out for it." Julian nuzzled Damon's cheek with his nose and then he sat back down at the table and took a deep drink of the coffee. "It's perfect. Do you want a sip?"

"Mmm." Damon shook his head. "I'm already on edge."

"Fair enough. Alright, we can study together for an hour and then head off to our doom, hand-in-hand?"

Damon kissed Julian's cheek and he nodded. "Deal."
