While it was all set up, Tal simply lay there, letting it all happen around her. Her stomach was smeared with cold gel and then she could see Alice on the monitor.

"The umbilical cord is wrapped around her throat," one of the doctors said, and then the room exploded into activity. "We need to perform an emergency C-Section."
