Cai grabbed onto Danny's reassurance, telling himself he should believe it, he should. His brain did believe that Danny meant it, but his heart didn't. He smiled at Danny though. He tried.

"Right," said Zoe, firmly. "Captive Danny doesn't exist any more. You're Free Danny, and Free Danny gets to choose to be a sneaky little arse, and Free Zoe and Rachel and Cai get to bully him into eating his fruit cup." Zoe said, raising her eyebrows at the untouched dessert.

"And Rachel wants to watch Free Willy," Rachel said quietly, as Zoe passed Danny a spoon.
