Brothers are such dicks - Marina, Percy, Giles

Marina didn't dress up to meet Percy at their usual haunt, always feeling like dolling up for a bar meant you were on the pull. Pulling was the last thing Marina was interested in, as usual. So in her white top and dark green trousers, she was one of the less revealing women as she entered the bar, stopping Percy quickly and lifting her hand in greeting as she wandered over.

"Hello, Rudolph," she said, slipping up onto the barstool next to him. "What are you drinking?"

"I worry about the plastic surgery holding up," Marina joked, "but he's got the sort of face that asks to be punched by anyone not infatuated with him." Marina was mostly over any and all Giles infatuation.

"You're a pretty good kisser," Marina grinned at him as they walked.

Percy snorted as she mentioned Giles' face. "His face is just inherently punchabale." She complimented his kissing and he laughed even harder. "Even my shocked, I'm frozen and I don't know what's happening kissing? Good to know! Anyway, even though I was joking when I invited you back to mine, we could still go there and have another few beers if you want."

"Yeah, let's do that," Marina nodded with a smile. "I don't feel like going home, and even if we wanted to hang around in the same bar as Giles, I'm pretty sure you might have just gotten us banned." Which might be a pity if it was the case. "Lead the way then. I don't know where your place is."

"I probably did," Percy laughed again. "Though no one came over to tell us to leave, so we might be safe!" He turned towards his place and pointed, "three blocks that way!"

"I think they were a bit surprised by the sudden bar brawl." Although bar brawl was rather an overstatement. Besides, Giles was probably being fawned over back there and fine now.

"Three blocks," Marina said and then, "good thing I didn't do heels. Not that I can't do amazing things in heels."

"Hell yeah you can," he said with a grin. "You used to work for hours in them!"

He led her to his little flat around the back of a house and unlocked the door. His black cat Theodore swanned into the room and wound himself around Percy's ankles.

"And my feet hate me for it," Marina added. "The price we pay for performance."

The cat curled against Percy and she said, "he's cute." She didn't want to get too close to him though, as cat fur would make her sneeze. Which, of course, meant the cat would want to be on her soon. "So this is where you lay your head then?"

"His name is Theodore and he's a handful," Percy chuckled, leading Marina into the flat. "Yep, this is my tiny place. Make yourself comfy. I'll get the beers."

"Theodore," Marina repeated and then said, "does anyone in your family not use a name that sounds like a character from a Victorian novel?"

Marina sat down on the couch, having a look around. It was about the same size as her own place, but with its own Percy touches instead of hers. When he came over with the beer she thanked him as she took it and said, with a little laugh, "I can't stop thinking about the horrified look on Giles' face."

"Well if I have to put up with it, so does the cat!" Percy laughed as he grabbed a six-pack of beer. He carried it into her and handed her a bottle along with a bottle opener. "I can't either, it was glorious. I wish I had taken a photo so I could send it to Deirdre."

"He's got some fucking nerve, you gotta say that about him," Marina said, taking a sip from the bottle and rolling her eyes. The idea that Giles got to say anything about who she hated, or if it was allowed to be his brother, was ridiculous. "Don't tell him the truth," Marina said, now that she was thinking about it and how it might make things both easier and more frustrating for Giles. "Let's just run with his. I should be your girlfriend."

"He really does," Percy sighed. When she requested he not tell the truth, Percy grinned again. "Sounds good to me! I would kind of love to make him make that shocked face again."

"Rub it in his face," Marina said and then added, "Ugh, not literally? that sounded gross." She took a sip of her beer and looked over at his DVDs. "Feel like watching something? I don't want to go home to my quiet house any time soon, if that's okay with you?"

Percy choked on his beer when Marina mentioned he shouldn't rub anything in Giles face literally. "Good tip," he said, spluttering. "But yes. Watch! Choose anything."

Marina got up from the couch and wandered over to the shelf, looking through the titles slowly before pulling one out triumphantly and holding it up in front of her face with a wiggle. "Oh yes," Marina said, "Prestige time." Yes, okay, so Marina missed the magic a lot.

"I love that movie, so there's no way I would say no!" he grinned, settling in to the sofa. "Ah, to be Hugh Jackman."

"You're into Hugh Jackman?" Marina asked, raising an eyebrow after putting the disc in. "New things to learn about you everyday, Perce."

"Not so much," he said with a grin, "but I wouldn't mind looking like him. I think if I was going to be with a guy, it would be more like Tom Hiddleston. Don't judge me."

"A skinny boy like you. Got it." Marina said with a little laugh. "I think you can have both of them. Neither are really my type. Not that I really have a type." A shrug and a sip of her beer again. There had only been Giles. And if 'Giles' had to be her type that was disastrous.

"However," she said, pointing at the screen, "I wouldn't mind looking like Hugh's blonde wifey. She's pretty."

"My type is me but more attractive," he laughed, but settled into watch the movie. "She is, but you're gorgeous too. You know those punters couldn't tear their eyes away from you when you worked with us. That's why you were perfect."

"I did have the girls on display in something sequined," Marina agreed. "It tends to hold attention."

On screen they were tying up Hugh's wife (why couldn't she remember any of the character's names in movies?) and putting her into the water tank and Marina made a sigh and pointed at the screen. "Why couldn't this have been the stuff I'd got to do?" she lamented. "I would love to try these death-defying escape artist stunts. Giles always pulled them off so well."

"I've always been too scared to try, but he's really good yes. I could teach you, you know," he said, only halfway meaning it.

Marina turned quickly to focus on him instead of the movie. "Are you being serious?" she asked, her own tone very serious. "You could teach how to do the water tank?"

"Well...yeah," Percy said, turning to face her. "I've watched Giles do it for years, and our father before that. He taught us everything when he handed the show over to us."

Marina's eyes were bright and excited. "That would be amazing to learn! But if you can do it, why do you never do it in the show?"
