Zoe pulled in a really deep, deep breath. Her lungs strained with the effort, and she made a small and slightly strangled sound as she breathed out. She really hoped that he was right, that they could do this, but it was difficult to believe that all her actions wouldn't be in vain. She couldn't bring herself to agree with him and his reassurances - best stick with what she definitely knew.
