Zoe put her hand flat against the nearest wall, feeling lightheaded and nasty. "Cai's gone to her house to see if she's there," she said, hating the weakness she could hear in her voice. She didn't want to admit she didn't know what to do, but she didn't need to admit it; her voice was giving her away. "My mums are out dating so I'm getting a taxi there too. Do you know any of her family's numbers or anything?" She didn't think this had anything to do with the new knowledge that her step mother and sister weren't human. How did that fit in? It didn't, right?
