This is better - Delilah - G
They needed her to work on Sunday. Delilah had informed them this simply wasn't going to happen. No way in hell. This, apparently, wasn't clear enough and it was the last straw for Delilah.
She quit. She walked out of the bookshop and was two blocks away when she realised what she'd done and muttered 'fuck!' under her breath. What the hell was she meant to do without a job?? She needed to learn to...be less something.
Right. As soon as she got back from Download-
Her thoughts were interrupted by the whir of machinary to her right. She looked over and saw the garage. Not a big place, greasy looking and with a sign out the front that read 'Caleb's.'
She looked at it for another moment and then shrugged. "What the hell, right?" she told herself and walked over to where someone was working under a car. "Hey, is these a boss around here I can talk to?" she asked.

She looked around the place and then looked back at him asking, "You got any jobs going?"

Caleb looked at the girl, skeptical amusement on his face. "You any good?" he asked.

"Better than anyone you got working here, I'm willing to bet," she told him confidently. If there was one thing Delilah know, it was engines. People may have left her completly baffled, but she could do cars and bikes like no one else could.

Caled scoffed. "Hey, it's been a slow day, why not? If you can get Old Hopeless over there-" he jerked his thumb to the back of the shop where a dejected old Humvee sat, "-Up and running, I'll think about it. Hey, Horse, Domino!" He called for the other two mechanics, both of which had a beer in his hand. "This little gothlet wants a job." They looked as amused as Caleb did.

She looked out toward the way he pointed and then back to him and smiled. "Wanna time me?" She didn't even care that he was laughing at the thought of it- all of them were- they didn't know what she could do and Delilah was (mostly) confident she could as least make some progress on that thing.

He had to admit, the girl had spunk. Caleb glanced at the clock then back at the gothlet. "Go, then. We close in two hours."

Delilah grinned and nodded. "Which tools you gonna let me play with?" Guys were touchy about things like their tools.

"I ain't using mine." Domino said, finishing his beer and pointing to the heavily grafittied tool box sitting on one of the benches.

"Awesome," she said, walking over and grabbing the toolbox before heading out the back and throwing her coat over the nearest grotty looking chair. Now. Down to work.
