Thomas understood where Zoe was coming from, and while he moved away and out of the kitchen, he stayed where he could see them all. He had a feeling he knew what was going on.

"I-" Danny struggled to calm his breath, his hand still clenched over his chest. "I'm sorry-"

From where Thomas stood in the entryway he said, "I think I understand, Danny. I'm sorry I didn't know before. I understand because it happened to me too."

That was enough of a shock, that Danny raised his head and stared at the gigantic man in the hallway. The distraction actually served to calm him, at least a little bit. The other man was huge, how could he have been through it too, unless-

"Were you also seven?" Danny asked, his voice ragged.

Next to Zoe, Liz's eyes fell shut. She was clearly horrified.
