Renee / Pierre - Checking chakras - G
Renee looked up from her homework as she heard the door close. Before she could get up, Pierre appeared in the doorway of the study, grinning from ear to ear.
"I am healthy! Did I not tell you?" he laughed, clearly enjoying being in the right. After his strange episode last night, Renee had insisted that the boy visit a doctor, just in case he was ill.
"What did they say?" she asked, not yet entirely convinced.
"Just that," Pierre said, sitting down across from her. "They checked everything, and nothing is wrong with me. I was probably just tired," he added, observing her skeptical look.
"Hmm..." she mused.
A moment passed in silence before Pierre asked, "What?"
"The experience you described... It sounds like more than just being overtired. I think there is something wrong. It's just... not necessarily physical."
Pierre made a face. "Do you think I have a brain problem?"
"No," Renee said, a small smile appearing on her face despite the situation. "I mean it might be something of a more spiritual nature."
Pierre rolled his eyes. "You know I don't believe all that witch stuff, Renee. I am fine. The doctor said so."
"Please," Renee said, reaching out to take Pierre's hand. "Just let me check your chakras. That's all I ask. It won't take long."
Seeing that she wasn't going to give in, Pierre simply sighed and acquiesced.
Pierre sat cross-legged on the floor of Renee's room while she cast her circle. It all seemed a bit unnecessary, but it was her religion, or whatever she wanted to call it. Hey, if it would make her feel better...
"East, Air, breath of life. Lift us to your creative heights, inspire us to find truths within and without. North, Fire, cleansing and passion. Burn away that which is impure within us, leave us as bright as your flame. West, Water, pure elixir of love. Sooth our hearts with your infinite mercy. South, Earth, firmament beneath our feet. Strengthen our bodies, and give us that which we need to endure, as we feed you with our light. Goddess, hear our call! Come to us now, that we may live in your light! Bless this circle, and let no harm be done! Let the truth be known to us now!"
For a few moments, she stood motionless, eyes closed but turned to the heavens. Then, satisfied that the Goddess was present, she turned her attention back to Pierre.
"I'm going to use the pendulum to check your chakras for any abnormality or damage. You don't need to do anything except be open to me. Are you ready, Pierre?"
Pierre simply nodded, wanting to get the experience over with.
"Very well..." Renee lifted the chain that held her rutilated quartz stone, allowing it to slowly spin above her left hand. Focusing on Pierre, she turned her attention to his base chakra. As she concentrated, the pendulum began to spin faster and in larger circles, a strong response.
"Hmm... I didn't expect that..." she said, almost to herself.
"What?" Pierre asked. He sounded wary. Even unbelievers seemed to be afraid of bad news in the presence of a witch.
"No, nothing bad," Renee assured him. "Actually, your base chakra is very good. I just didn't expect you to feel so at home here."
"I'm with you," he said simply.
She smiled, and turned her attention to his sacral chakra. The movement of the pendulum decreased a little, but was still strong.
"What does that mean?" Pierre asked.
"I'm reading your sacral chakra. It's located in the genital area, so it's primarily related to sexual satisfaction. But it's also to do with the practical ideas associated with sex, like creativity. But I was already well aware of your sexcapades back in France," she smiled.
Pierre nodded, waiting for her to move on.
"Oh..." she murmured as she moved to his seat of personal power.
Pierre looked down to find that the pendulum had altered direction and was moving erratically, stopping and starting. It seemed quite mad, in defiance of physical laws. And her hands weren't shaking one bit.
"What is it?"
Renee looked up at him, worry in her eyes. "It's your personal power centre... something or someone has damaged it very badly. It feels awful... like the very life has been sucked out of you. Do you feel anything here?" she asked, indicating her stomach.
"I have been... what is the word? ... Nauseous. But that was last night. I am well now."
"I'm not so sure..." Renee murmured, and moved on to the next chakra.
The pendulum returned to some semblance of normality, but still didn't seem particularly strong as she read his heart chakra.
"There is a conflict in your heart..."
"Can we move on, please?" Pierre asked shortly. Renee looked up at him, surprised by his tone, but he said no more. Knowing it would be wrong to pry, she moved on as he asked.
As she examined the throat chakra, the pendulum came to a grinding halt. She looked up at him, knowing what it meant. He was feeling bad about Kait and Deirdre.
"Your throat chakra is closed off," she sighed. "That means a communication problem."
"I do not understand. Why will you not tell Deirdre the truth? You have done nothing wrong with Kait, except for lying to Deirdre. You will only make things worse."
"Soon," Renee said. "I'll tell her soon, when things aren't so... complicated."
"They will always be complicated if you keep doing this, mon ami."
"It's not up to you," Renee said with finality. "I will tell her soon. When I know I can be at peace with Kait and Scarlett."
"This should not be so hard," Pierre sighed.
"You need a cleansing," Renee said, changing the subject. "I'm going to call light from the Goddess to wash over you. Hopefully it will clean off whatever has been sucking on your chakras."
Pierre sat back and let Renee work her magick. Now that the so-called problem with his throat chakra had been pointed out, the guilt was gnawing at him more strongly than ever. He hated being involved in deceiving Deirdre, but Renee was right. It wasn't his place to tell. It was Renee's problem. It just hurt so much to watch her make it steadily worse, every single day...
"Pierre?"
Renee's voice snapped him out of his thoughts.
"It is done. You can go now."
Pierre nodded, feeling a little strange, and headed back downstairs, looking for something to take his mind off the whole rotten situation.
