"Cake time!" He pulled one of them towards him and started in on it. Then, more soberly, he added, "sort of feels like I'm washing him away? With cake. I mean...every time I eat now, it's taking back something he took from me. I'm getting better at it. I'm showing him I don't need him to feed me. It's a reason to keep doing it, right?
